IF WE ALL END UP DYING, WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF LIVING?

Picture
Have you ever asked yourself the purpose of why you are born in this world? It might sound simple but what is your answer?

It is now 2 AM, and I can not tell you what I have experienced just now. To be frank, we are always reminded of what 'success' looks like in this era. Branded stuff, nice cars, big houses, fame, and other things that look extremely tempting for us. But again, I am always reminded that the most crucial step is to know my motivation for what I pursue in this world. Yes, I have been working hard to achieve my goals. But ain't it sad if all I could think was only myself?

During this pandemic, I had spent a lot of time to constantly figure myself out and my purpose existing in this big world. I believe that it requires a process, too. Tonight, I decided to dedicate my time to my spiritual growth and there was this vision that allowed me to see how every human in this world was created by God to serve a purpose: To please Him and to bless others. Nothing more.

Have you ever counted how many skills you have? How many works have you done? How many friends you have? How much you enjoy learning new things? All the beautiful things that you have experienced, it was all a gift. You would not be able to do it without Him. We shall not boast our work. Remember that this life that we live in is entrusted, and therefore we should not grow in vain.

I am glad to find this powerful quote, it says:

“Don’t search for what you’re passionate about, serve others to make yourself passionate.”

In Singapore, our government has strictly advised us to follow a circuit breaker, which means we have to be at home at all times, except for running or grocery shopping. Stiffer penalties applied to whoever flout the regulations. I understand that many have been infected and some families have suffered severely due to this. But, staying at home is the least I could do to support us and our country.

While staying at home, I have figured a lot of things that I have never thought I was capable of doing. Reading books, cooking some Italian dishes, doing some research, learning a new language, and many other useful activities that seemed to be fun once it is acquired. Therefore, this break time has taught me a lot about how precious we are. Isn't it amazing that everyone was not merely born, but beautifully created to have skills, talents, and the ability to think? We can communicate and connect with people who surround us. We can freely explore and learn about new things. Wow. We are all so blessed. You are beyond blessed.

"I am grateful for my family and friends.
I am grateful for my ability and talents.
I am grateful for my mind and body.
I am grateful for my environment.
I am grateful that I was born."

The beginning of 2020 might be hard, but it is not the end. The earth will heal. God listens. So, for everyone who's reading this, I want to simply remind you that you are amazing. Forgive, heal, and grow. We can not regret, therefore, we should use this time to truly maximise our potentials before we start being busy with our routines.

Stay healthy. Stay safe. Stay sane.
Make our life counts.
