BIRTHDAY IN QUARANTINE | #OFFICIALLY22
May has always been a memorable month for me. Being stuck in another country while surviving alone has been extremely challenging. The main reason was that I had to gradually be conscious of my being to be gently stable mentally, spiritually, and physically.
I did not dare to put high expectation for my birthday, as I knew I had to celebrate it inside my room, by myself. As someone who admits words of affirmation as her first love language, receiving long birthday wishes from people only made feeling extremely overwhelmed. It truly appreciates to whoever who's been faithful and seen me as their role models. It gave me a realization that hard work has never gone in vain and made me glad that I could be the reason for people to succeed in becoming a better person.
Do you ever feel the same way? You wish to postpone your birthday and rather stay at your age, meanwhile on your birthday, you don't want to end it just because your friends express the love that makes you feel blessed to know them.
This might not be the best birthday, but I truly enjoyed every second of it! During that day, I received so many surprises from my loved ones, a birthday cake from awfully chocolate, egg tarts, salmon salad, cheesecakes, oreo pudding, almost guilty pleasures you can ever think of. Besides all the treats, I felt tremendously lucky to have spent my time through Zoom call to hear life updates from my friends from different sides of the world. Some had to stay at home during circuit breakers, some were stuck in the UK, and some were busy trying their best to achieve good grades for their FYPs during this time. It was not merely birthday wishes, but we successfully turned the meeting into some quality time to catch up with one another. To be frank, it was truly meaningful to start of being twenty-two.
It was truly a good feeling how blessed you are to be surrounded by highly motivated people who've been supporting you for years. Good times and bad times. Thank you to everyone who continuously believes in me during doubtful moments. If you know, you know.
Embracing those delightful moments during #quarantine,
